My stay at the Alexandra Hotel was a mixed experience. I loved the central location and the friendly staff, which definitely added to my enjoyment. However, I was disappointed with the room's condition and some aspects of dining. The breakfast had great variety, but the dinner service left much to be desired.

Rooms

The room was typically small but clean and comfortable, though it had a rather unpleasant smell. The furniture was dated, and the floors were uneven which made walking around a bit uncomfortable.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with recommendations or any issues I had during my stay. Their effort made my visit much more pleasant.
Location

The hotel's central location was perfect, just a short walk from the train station and local shops. I found it very convenient for exploring Fort William and the surrounding attractions.
Dining

While the breakfast buffet offered plenty of options, including haggis and black pudding (which I was excited to try!), the dinner menu was underwhelming. I found the quality of food lacking, and the dinner itself was mediocre at best.
Facilities

The hotel had basic amenities and offered free, reliable Wi-Fi. It could definitely use some updates, as some areas, like the carpets and bathroom fixtures, showed signs of wear.

I spent three nights at the Alexandra Hotel while on a coach tour, and while my room was comfortable, it did have a few issues. The breakfast setup was chaotic, especially with multiple coach loads of guests trying to navigate the buffet. However, the restaurant staff were friendly and the food quality was good, making the dining experience enjoyable overall. The hotel's location is excellent, offering easy access to the town and local attractions. 🌄✨

My room was clean and well-decorated, but only had one small window that opened onto a hot, central area of the hotel, making it a bit stuffy at times. I found an electric fan in the corridor that helped. Overall, the bed was comfortable, which allowed for decent rest despite some noise. 🛏️
Service

The hotel's location is fantastic, just a short walk from the high street and close to local attractions, making it easy to explore Fort William. Being near the railway station is also a significant plus. 🚆
Dining

The breakfast buffet had a wide selection and was replenished regularly, but the setup for serving it was quite chaotic, especially with so many guests at once. The dinner options were varied and generous, with both meals I tried being delicious. 🍽️
Facilities

Facilities were adequate, though the aging décor and some aspects of the hotel could use a refresh. Parking was available and convenient, which was a plus for my stay. 🚗

I recently stayed at the Alexandra Hotel in Fort William, and while I appreciated its excellent location and friendly staff, I was disappointed with the overall experience. The cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel left much to be desired, as the carpets were worn and the room had some maintenance issues. The dining experience was notably poor, especially the evening meals. Overall, I felt the hotel had potential, but significant improvements are needed in several areas. 😕

Rooms

My room was spacious but showed signs of wear and tear, with a sloping floor that made it feel unsteady. Some cleanliness issues were also apparent.

The staff were friendly and helpful, which was refreshing. However, the service during meals was inconsistent and could have been better.

My stay at Alexandra Hotel was a mixed bag. I loved the friendly staff and the excellent location near local attractions, particularly for exploring Fort William. However, the hotel itself felt quite tired and in need of renovations. Despite the friendly atmosphere, the room was not as comfortable as I'd hoped, with issues like a poor water flow in the bath and thin walls that made it hard to sleep soundly.

Rooms

I was disappointed with the condition of my room. The carpet was threadbare, the thermostat was hanging off the wall, and there were issues with the water pressure in the bath. Given the price, I expected better.

Breakfast had its ups and downs. While I appreciated the variety of options, I encountered long queues and some items ran out quickly. It felt a bit chaotic at times, especially with bus groups prioritizing service.
Facilities

I found the facilities to be quite basic. While the essentials were covered, like free Wi-Fi, overall, the hotel needed a spruce up to make it more comfortable.

I had a pleasant stay at Alexandra Hotel, which definitely shines in terms of its location right near the train station and local shops. The staff were super friendly and helpful, adding to the overall welcoming vibe. However, I did find the room a bit cramped and dated, and the food could use some improvement. Still, I would say it’s a decent option for exploring Fort William.

Rooms
